Our CORGHI car hoist and lift range features essential automotive workshop equipment items for all your vehicle hoisting needs.
When it comes to selecting the right hoist, you should be looking for several key features like quality, reliability, longevity and support, maintenance and also consider the hoisting spare parts availability.
Our extensive Erco range showcases the CORGHI commitment to a superior line of car hoist and vehicle lifting equipment.
But how do you choose the right hoist for your vehicles, workspace and jobs?
We will take you through our range of hoisting equipment to help you decide what is the right fit for your automotive workshop or service centre.
Lift Tables and Jacking Bridges
Centre Lift Tables and Jacking Bridges are placed in the middle of the hoist as an additional piece of equipment and creates two hoists in one!
The Jacking Bridge hoists the car in the middle of the underbody creating a “wheels free” hoist. This allows you to access the wheels, brakes and suspension during repairs and services. Lift tables lift the vehicle by the sills.
It depends on what type of vehicle you are wanting to service as to what one you will use. Larger vehicles like a FWD are more difficult to lift with a Jacking Bridge and so you may opt for a built in, hydraulically powered Lift Table.
The other benefit of this equipment is that you don’t have anything in the middle of the hoist obscuring your work area and you avoid hitting your head!
Car Platform Scissor Lift
With more and more cars becoming electric, you will find this style of hoist is becoming more common with mechanics that service a real variety of vehicles.
With the Platform Scissor Lift, the car is driven on the platform and the wheels remain on the platform as the hoist rises up.
This leaves the underbody clear and accessible for work on parts such as the oil pan and batteries of electric vehicles.
You could also add a Lift Table or Jacking Bridge to one of these hoists to allow easy access to the wheels if you were a small, one-man workshop for example.
Car Scissor Hoist (Underbody)
This style of scissor lifts the vehicle by the sills, leaving the wheels hanging free and unrestricted.
This allows the wheels to be free to be taken off the vehicle and easy access to brakes and suspension during repairs and services.
This Scissor Hoist style is very commonly used in large workshops across Australia and Europe that have a variety of different hoists to cater to a variety of staff members and vehicles.
Two Post Car Hoist: Electro-Hydraulic Lift
This is the most popular CORGHI product in Australia! This is the most versatile car hoist we have.
There is easy access to the underbody of the vehicle and the wheels are free. These are very easy to operate and quick in performance.
Walk into any large dealership and you will see they have plenty of these products!
Two Post Car Hoist: Electromechanical Lift
These products were popular back in the 70’s but have become less popular as technology has developed.
However, these slower machines are still used today for high-end vehicles as it reduces the risk of damage to the vehicle.
We also do a 5 tonne version of these hoists for lifting limousines or particularly heavy vehicles such as RAMs and Suburbans.
Four Post Car Hoist
These vehicle hoists lock level and are very strong in the way they operate due to the four posts.
Similar to a Platform Scissor Lift, the car is driven on to the hoist and Jacking Bridges or Lift Tables can be used to make the vehicle “wheels free” and the hoist becomes all purpose.
The benefit to having four posts is the accessibility to the sides of the vehicle which is ideal for automotive workshops as you are able to remove gearboxes and transmissions easily.
Industrial Vehicles & Truck Hoists
As the name suggests, these vehicle hoists are industrial strength and designed for lifting extremely large and heavy vehicles such as buses and trucks.
The main point of difference of an Industrial Vehicle Hoist is the mobile columns. These columns are not fixed to the ground in any way and are maneuverable, meaning you don’t need to set aside a specific bay of your workshop to cater to a specific size of vehicle.
You can also lift a vehicle, remove the hoist from underneath, and leave it on stands leaving the hoist free for use on another job.
These versatile products will be found in industrial mechanics and are commonly used in the mining industry.
Underbody Airbag Quick Lift (Belly Lift)
These quick and easy to use lifts are popular hoists with tyre shops as they allow a car to be lifted to a low height, just high enough to change a tyre!
Hydraulic Jacks
These small machines may look little, but they are mighty! Used for lifting up any vehicle from a 28 tonne truck to small car, this will be your go-to quick service jack for changing tyres.
These Hydraulic Jacks only lift a single axle so you are able to instantly access a wheel. The great thing about these versatile hoists is that they can be hand maneuvered around your service centre and all jobs can be executed on the ground.
Motorbike Hoist
These scissor lifts are designed specifically to carry a motorbike or a moped. By raising the bike to eye level, you have easy access to the engine and no longer have to bend over or crouch down to do the job.
This protects your back and allows you to work longer and more efficiently.
